for limitless violin technique and virtuosity using the unique method "The Shonert Technique"
"To be able to express thoughts and feelings, it is imperative that a violinist has a strong technical basis. In architecture, any construction begins with laying down a foundation. Without a correct and reliable groundwork, the most beautiful building will quickly fall apart. The concept is the same for playing the violin. The violin techniques that I teach are that very foundation; without them it is impossible to create the beautiful building that is Music! The purpose of my methodology is to give my students this basis - the most reliable and strong foundation that is necessary for a good violinist. Knowledge should not be confined to learned tomes on dusty shelves, but should be available to everyone who needs it and to all who are willing to learn. I will be very happy if my experience, my thoughts and ideas will be useful for young students as well as my colleagues."
Alexander Shonert
Violinist and teacher Alexander Shonert from Prague offers violinists and violists master classes, consultations and regular lessons according to his original method "Shonert Technique". Lessons can take place online or in person in Prague in Russian, English and Czech. The "Shonert Technique" is a unique methodology that differs in many ways from classical and conventional methods of violin teaching. It was developed by A. Shonert on the basis of the principles of yoga, tai-chi and Chinese medicine, using physics, physiology, anatomy and psychology. It is not just about the correct position of the hands, but about the ability to control your body, muscles, emotions, which allows you to achieve maximum results with minimum muscle tension. The "Shonert Technique" is applicable to music school, high school and university students, as well as to professional musicians - orchestrators, soloists and teachers, graduates of conservatories and academies. Students and graduates of the Moscow State Conservatory, The Gnessin State Musical College and Gnesins Academy of Music , Juilliard School, NY, USA, Indiana University Jacobs School of Music in Bloomington, IN, USA as well as teachers from high schools and colleges in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria, Great Britain, Australia, Canada, Spain, and Singapore have turned to Shonert to learn this method. The prestigious London magazine The Strad wrote of the author of The Shonert Technique : "It is admirable that he uses his own phenomenal playing skills to illustrate his methodology and openly shares his experiences with colleagues."

"There are some special music teachers who give a pupil freedom to create, to play from the heart, to discover their own interpretations of the pieces they play, and so a talented child gets inspiration from the music itself, with the teacher supporting that. It is also so important when the teacher himself plays in a truly soulful and beautiful way, the pupil naturally trusts the sound and falls in love with it. Alexander Shonert is one of those teachers who truly do inspire, and for naturally gifted young musicians every lesson will hold meaning and stay in their heart forever".

"It is admirable that he is willing to use his own phenomenal playing ability to illustrate his theories, and to share his skill with colleagues in an open fashion."

"I play in a prestigious string quartet – Pavel Haas Quartet. Despite intensive work with the Quartet, I took lessons with Alexander Shonert. . I appreciate his amazing ability to explain things intelligibly, his talent to work with imagination, and his music sensibility for each detail of music, phrase, and sound. Especially I appreciate his human dimension, willingness to help, and his sincere joy with the results and successes of students. From my personal experience, I can acknowledge that the universal violin philosophy which he taught me, has worked. I sincerely recommend Alexander Shonert as a violin teacher. He will lead his students well."
